Support VINCE!

Update: Vince was an incredible man and a legend. His presence will be deeply missed. Erin Rheinschild is asking that those looking to send flowers instead contribute to our very own Sawtooth Sports Foundation and the Higher Ground Foundation.

Dear Friends,

There are few people in this valley that have done so much for so many as Vince Baertschi. Over the past 30 years, Vince has devoted his life to training and teaching.

Whether he was working with Navy Seals helping them train for combat, teaching a newcomer how to shoot a handgun safely and accurately, dialing in a precision rifle at the 1000-yard target so a rookie could hit it and experience the thrill or donating his time, guns, ammo and experience for a fund-raising snipper shoot, our man Vince has helped us all.

Well, Vince needs our help now and it is time to repay our debt to this great warrior. He is facing a serious battle with cancer and begins extensive treatment soon for several months. He will be outside the area and away from home for the duration of his treatment.

We would like you to consider a tax deductible donation to the Bald Mountain Rescue Fund on his behalf. The fund is managed locally by Brian Barsotti and 100 percent of the donations go to the designated person. The fund was established to help people just like Vince and has wide latitude to cover expense including living expenses, out of pocket medical expenses, transport and lost wages.

Below is the mission statement for the fund and the address for mailing checks locally. Vince also needs prayers and will support post treatment. Please follow your heart and do what is comfortable. We hope you will join us in your love for this great man and to help him and his family win this battle. Please send the link to this page to anyone you think is appropriate and please call on any of us with questions or thoughts.

Please mail checks to:
